Choosing a Firm: Insights from the Selection Committee

November 05, 2025
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Legends Patio Grill & Bar - 72nd & Pacific
6920 Pacific St, Unit 100
Omaha, NE 68106

You've poured hours into the proposal. What actually matters to the people reviewing it?

SMPS Nebraska invites you to take a seat on the other side of the table for a panel conversation with the decision-makers behind the shortlist. Hear directly from clients, owners, and selection committee members as they share what stands out and what falls short when choosing a firm.

This program is designed to give AEC marketers, business developers, technical staff, and proposal teams real-world insight into the firm selection process, including:

  • What reviewers actually read (and what they skim)
  • The proposal sections that hold the most weight
  • How design, messaging, and project relevance influence decisions
  • The connection between your written proposal and interview performance

Whether you’re chasing public pursuits or private opportunities, this is your chance to learn what moves the needle from the people who make the call.

Want to go deeper? Submit an anonymized or redacted proposal excerpt before the event for live feedback from the panel. We'll use real examples to highlight best practices and common pitfalls.
