Whose Shoes Are You Looking At?

June 11, 2014
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Spezia

Omaha, NE 68124

We've all heard the joke... How can you tell an extroverted engineer? When he talks to you, he looks at your shoes instead of his own.

While A/E/C technical professionals are often introverts, most marketing/BD professionals have extroverted personalities. And the differences between introverts and extroverts can cause challenges. This presentation will identify character traits of introverts and extroverts, then look at common interactions and provide tips for dealing with each type.

Introverts and Extroverts both have outstanding traits but work very differently. They get their energy from different places and their responses to stimuli are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Understanding these personality traits can minimize the challenges that marketers in the AEC industry face when interacting with technical staff who may be of the opposite personality. We’ll discuss tips when working with the opposite personality to complete proposals, attend networking functions and prepare for project interviews.
